Northern California wildfires remain dangerous amid searing heatwave

As California endured a heatwave forecast to bring some of the hottest weather of the year, firefighters in the far north of the state were on Sunday battling “dangerous” wildfires that forced evacuations, destroyed dozens of homes and injured several people.
