Nobel Peace Prize received less nominations, committee says

The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it had received 305 nominations for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, the lowest number in four years. Among those nominations are 212 individuals and 93 organizations. 

It is standard procedure for the names to not be released. Nominations had to be submitted before the February 1 deadline. “Who nominates, and who is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize is a secret for 50 years,” the board in Oslo said in a statement.
