No-confidence motion debate ends
The French parliament’s debate on two no-confidence motions in Michel Barnier’s government tabled by the left-leaning NFP alliance and the far-right RN is over.
Yaël Braun-Pivet, the speaker of the house, has declared the vote open on the motion presented by the NFP, which is considered the one most likely to pass. Voting will last 45 minutes and close at 8.20pm local time (7.20pm GMT).
