A new pelican crossing on Chorley New Road is set to be completed and operational by the beginning of March.
Work has begun on the crossing, which is hoped will provide safer access to the notorious road for pedestrians.
Situated close to the junction with New Hall Lane, the crossing is in close proximity to the Bolton School Foundation and Clevelands Preparatory School.
