Algeria suspends cooperation with Spain over Western Sahara

Spain says it ‘regrets’ Algiers decision that comes after Madrid in March publicly recognised Morocco’s autonomy plan for the disputed territory.

Algeria is “immediately” suspending a two-decades-old friendship treaty with Spain after Madrid reversed decades of neutrality in the Western Sahara dispute.
