At least 25 dead in heavy rains in northeast Brazil: Official

BRASILIA: At least 25 people were killed Saturday by heavy rain that has lashed the metropolitan region of Recife, capital of Pernambuco, since Tuesday, authorities in the northeastern Brazilian state told new agency AFP.
“Today (Saturday) alone there were 25 deaths” in different locations in the area, said a civil defense source.
