Roadworks which started this week in Westhoughton, Wednesday, January 4, are due to last four weeks “weather permitting”.
The work to resurface the carriageway and improve the drainage began on the A6 Manchester Road/Chorley Road near the Wimberry Hill Road junction after the New Year bank holiday.
Residents are being warned that access to their homes may be restricted at certain points throughout the process.
