Julian Assange lands in Australia a free man

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been reunited with his wife and family after touching down on home soil a free man for the first time in more than a decade.

Assange, 52, landed at RAAF Base Fairbairn in Canberra just before 7.40pm (AEST) after flying in on a chartered jet from Saipan, a tiny US territory more than 5000km from Australia, where he had faced court earlier on Wednesday.
