Bolton Council boss resigns from role on authority

Bernie Brown, the director of children’s services, is leaving for Staffordshire County Council this summer.

Ms Brown has been in the role for more than six years and is to take up the same role at the authority in the West Midlands. She has been described as a “committed leader” with “impressive knowledge” at the time of an inspection last year by Ofsted.
