Memory of ‘hugely respected’ councillor honoured by the community he served

The bench has been placed in Bromley Cross, where Norman Critchley served for more than 30 years.

Mr Critchley, died at the age 82, died on Monday, January 4, 2021, at his home.

He had been ill for a long time with prostate cancer.

Mr Critchley was a chartered structural  engineer for some time.

He was the Mayor of Bolton from 2009-2010 and he was made and Honorary Alderman in August 2019.
